Case Writers, Think Carefully About How You Portray Protagonists

Gender, racial, and ethnic diversity, both within cases and among business school faculty, has not kept pace with the growing diversity of the student body at top business schools and, moreover, the broader society in which we live.


This imbalance has led many institutions, including Harvard Business School, to examine past practices and initiate efforts to write—and teach with—more cases that reflect society’s diversity.
